The system is built around three basic coals. Easy to install, easy to use and cost effective. The base network uses standard Ethernet technology and the local sub-networks between the controllers and the modules use Linet local bus technology. The system easily scales from tens of control points to tens of thousands of control points.
The structure of our system can be seen from the block diagram on left.
We can deliver complete system from interfacing modules at the field level to the graphical user interfaces and reporting tools and everything in between.
Our systems base network, the Ethernet bus is cabled always as a normal 10/100 base TX Ethernet.
Our Linet sub network on the other hand is much lighter network. It requires only one twisted pair cable with electrical specifications equal to CAT6 cable. We have specified that blue/blue-white pair is always for Linet. Unfortunately it is very hard to find commercial single or dual pair CAT6 cables so clearly the cheapest solution is to use standard 4 pair CAT6 cable. In some cases our modules or an external device like smoke detector or lamp indicator requires additional electricity so we have specified an other wire pair as our optional +24Vdc supply pair (brown/white-brown).
Cabling with standard CAT6 cable is familiar to all professionals and that way saves money. Installation work with proven tools is faster saving even more.

Many of our modules use standard RJ45 connector for Linet. They can be connected to each other using very cheap ready made Ethernet cables from the nearest computer store. This way connecting our modules to the system is even faster and simpler. Our connection boxes CB-01D and CB-01F can cross connect CAT6 cables with and without RJ45 connectors.

I/O ModulesThe basic idea is to decentralize the modules to the field as close to the application as possible. This way the user can benefit the most the systems free form bus structure. In many cases the user can get rid of the space taking and expensive central boxes. As the installer can connect the modules using light cable and always select the shortest route for the connections, the system overall installation time is much faster compared to any other cabling methode.
Most of the modules consume so little power (less that 10mW) that they are supplied through Linet bus. Those few modules that require more power are supplied through the optional +24Vdc supply pair.
The modules whos main usage is in automation almost always are equipped with dual RJ45 connectors (dual for cascading). On the other hand the modules that are intended to be used in living areas are normally connected with single pair cable connectors. this is because in living areas it is often very important to use as thin wires as possible.
The system has a very easy to use way to address all the connected modules and the only tool that the installer needs is a standard laptop PC with any WEB browser and TELNET terminal program.

ControllersThe controller is the gateway between the interfaces in the field and the host system that normally provides the user interface of the system. There are also cases where no host system is wanted or required. The controller can produse many basic functions like house lighting controller, room temperature controller or SMS message controller as a stand alone unit.
One MIC01-CL(R) controller can operate 200 nodes in the interface modules. Most of our modules contain one data connection node but some of them may contain several like ACM3-01D, which is a 3 ch. AC current meter and contains three nodes, one for each channel. So in most cases the user can connect almost 200 interface modules behind one controller.
When using MIC01-CLR controller the user can use the internal GSM/GPRS modem to send SMS- alarm messages detected by the interface modules. In MIC01-CLR controller there is also a connector for microSD memory card where the user can collect trend data from various sources.
The MIC01-CL(R) controller contains many diagnostic features like Linet short circuit protection, Linet missing nodes detection, poor Linet signal quality detection, over temperature protection, etc.
The MIC01-SC system controller can connect up to 20 MIC01CL(R) controllers together to create a large embedded system of networked controlers each controlling up to 200 interface modules. The MIC01-SC can contain 200 condition groups, 30 clock groups, 120 logic groups, 120 PID control groups, etc. Inputs and outputs of these groups can exist under any MIC01-CL(R) controller in this system. With Ethernet base network and Linet subnetworks the user can spread the system as wide as ever needed.
The user can configure the controllers through Ethernet connection using TELNET terminal program available in every computer. The operation can be monitored and controlled using standard WEB browser program also found in every computer.

Our controllers provide excellent choices for connecting to various host systems. Main data paths for connection are 10/100 base Ethernet and GPRS datamodem connection.On these paths the user can use TCP/IP and UDP/IP communication protocols. The controllers act as slaves to the host system. Using various UDP-packet types the host can request and command the controller as often as it wants to. The UDP-packet sizes are very small, typically less than 1k bytes. So it can easily fit into a relatively tight packed Ethernet bus and will not create any heavy load by it self.
One of the ready made communication protocols is MODBUS/TCP, which is a standard in the industry and used in the factories and other places all over the world.
As a new and very important feature to our system we can now provide to our customers very sophiticated and proven host system server software. This software is developed by Control Microsystems Inc.company and the program is called ClearScada. This server software follows the same principals as our system does as it comes to our demand for user frendliness and easy system setup. The picture below show how ClearScada server and Sitecno system fit together.

With our Mobile Router MR01 module it is very easy to build up a complete operator independent GPRS data collection systems that can handle hundreds of MIC01-CLR controllers and tens of thousands of interface points anywhere the GPRS network reaches.
In parallel with this GPRS -data connection the user can of course use all the SMS functions like local alarms, monitoring and even control of individual functionc behind all MIC01-CLR controllers.
